B: The little boy who could fly

I haven't gone loopy, this is part of my series on made-up bed time stories.  See this post for more info.

B learns to fly

When B learned to fly, he was very small. He was lying in his cot and he noticed he was floating up to the ceiling. All of a sudden he fell back into his cot with a bump.

Mummy and Daddy came rushing into the room, 'What's that noise?' they gasped.

Berin wanted to explain what had happend, but because he couldn't talk, he couldn't tell them he could fly.

Over the next few weeks B practised flying. He flew around his room and learned to land safely in his cot.

One night it was very warm and Mummy and Daddy had left the window open so that B would be cool. When B was flying around his room, he noticed that it was open and flew right outside.

It was dark outside and B could see into the windows of the houses, because all the lights were on.

He saw a little girl asleep in her bed and he saw a man and a lady having dinner.

Then, he flew a bit further and looked into a house he recognised. It was Nanny and Grampy's house. B tapped on the window but they didn't hear him and because he couldn't talk, he couldn't tell them he could fly.

Then he flew a bit further and saw his Uncle and Auntie. B tapped on the window but they didn't hear him and because he couldn't talk, he couldn't tell them he could fly.

B flew home feeling happy he could fly, but sad that he couldn't tell anybody. As he got to the window he saw that Mummy and Daddy were in his room and they were very upset. B was sorry that he'd made them sad, but because he couldn't talk, he couldn't tell them he could fly.

B didn't have to tell them he could fly and when they saw him flying in through the open window, they were very surprised.

Now when B flies out of the window Mummy and Daddy aren't worried, but they don't know where B goes. He'll have to learn to talk, so he can tell everyone he can fly.

The End (because it's very important that you say 'The End')
